I’ve absolutely loved 2014 – I’ve shot 40 weddings in total, and worked with the best people I could’ve hoped to meet. I have also been working super hard to get better and better and better at what I do – early this year, I travelled to Amsterdam to attend a workshop with kickass wedding photojournalist Tyler Wirken. Tyler set me on a path in 2014 that has made me look harder, get closer, wait more and look deeper for the story which truly represents a wedding day.
And so here are some of my favourite moments from my weddings in 2014. Moments where the confetti has gone right in your face, when your best mate gives you the biggest hug just before you walk down the aisle, when your mum’s just downed her first Jagerbomb, when you get “something in your eye” during the ceremony, when you find out exactly what happened on the stag do, when your veil has a mind of its own, when you’re getting on down on the dancefloor, when you fluff your lines during the vows, when you get chocolate sauce down your new shirt, and when you are just so so blimming happy to be married to each other and your face is aching from laughing so much at your crazy mates. THIS is what makes me happy and what I love the most about photographing your wedding – this is who you are. Dearest loveliest brides & grooms, I salute you and may you long keep laughing together. And bring on 2015 – it’s going to be incredible! xxx
