Barcombe Village Hall Wedding – a super stylish day for Jess & Tim

Oooh it’s my first blog post of 2015 – and what a corker of a wedding this is to kick the year off! Jessica and Timir are childhood sweethearts who met when they were 17. They chose two very special venues for their wedding day – the ceremony was at Hamsey Church, a tiny ancient church which Jess & Tim used to meet at after school on their bikes, where they used to sit in the fields and talk, and where they fell in love. Awww! And they went on to their wedding reception at Barcombe Village Hall just down the road from their family home. I’ve shot a Barcombe Village Hall wedding before – and what I love most is that it’s a really modern blank canvas which people can make their own. And I am totally in love with J&T’s wedding décor – those black & white stripes, matched with the gold sparkley touches and fresh neutral flowers – oooh it’s just all so stylish and scrummy, and just completely transformed the hall into the most super elegant and chic wedding venue. This couple are just beautiful, inside and out, and I loved every part of their day – how stunning Jess looked in her beautiful dress, their lovely family & friends, all these lovely details, the fact Jess danced back down the aisle, the hen’s surprise Bollywood dance to kick off the evening. It’s also set me off on an obsession of all things stripey and gold!! Huge congratulations again guys, here’s to many more happy years together! xxxx

What beautiful photos – I was sitting on a dark, dismal, rainy day and just looked at Barcombe – as I was born there – and this popped up, My parents were married at that church in 1943, I was born in the house opposite the rec gate in 1944 and was bridesmaid to my aunt there in 1953. I live in Lincolnshire now and whenever we come to Sussex go to the churchyard as my grand parents are buried there. I wish the couple a very happy married life – I have been married 51 years now – unfortunately I didnt get married in Barcombe as my mum met my dad in the war and he was from Bedfordshire so I grew up there but Sussex
is still very dear to me.
