Brighton seaside wedding – James & Mayu’s Japanese-Brighton celebration

I have simply loved looking back through these photographs putting this blog post together. They really make me smile :). James & Mayu found me through the internet search for wedding photographers – which is pretty cool considering they live in Tokyo, Japan and were coming all the way over to Brighton just for their wedding day! How cool is that? I have to admit to being a bit obsessed with Japan – not least because it’s the home of where my cameras are made (yes, I actually am that geeky!) but also because it is such a different culture with so many interesting traditions. So I love how James & Mayu are equally obsessed with all things English – and decided to invite their closest friends and family to travel over and celebrate their big day Brighton-style! It was just a brilliant day, with so much warmth and friendliness from everyone there – and lots of ‘International language of Mime’ being used as my Japanese is pretty rubbish!!! I loved the speeches – it was very interesting photographing speeches where I don’t understand the language – but the emotion and happiness was so clear. Then me, Mayu and James headed into town for a superlong photoshoot around all of Brighton’s most famous landmarks – the Pier, the Bandstand, Beach huts, Carousel, Brighton Pavilion, North Laines – yes we went EVERYWHERE! What these photos don’t show is just how windy and freezing cold it was – full credit to beautiful Mayu for smiling through the weather! Beautiful girl!! I loved getting to know Mayu & James… おめでとうございます。末永くお幸せに。 (which means love and best wishes to the Happy Couple!)
