One of the best things about being a wedding photographer is that I get to meet a really wide variety of people. I get to know my couples pretty well (definitely by the end of the wedding day), and I’m so lucky that my brides & grooms happen to be the most awesome people on this planet. These two lovelies are no exception to that – I blooming love Ruth & Steve so much that they’re lucky I didn’t muscle in during the ceremony and insist on getting married to both of them!!!! Right from our first meeting, I knew these two were very special – they are kind and thoughtful, very creative (Steve is a super talented photographer himself!) and they are downright hilarious – every single time I get an email from them I end up properly snorting with laughter (so I’ve learnt now to be holding a coffee at the time!). They are properly FAB and their Horsted Place wedding was just the most perfect celebration for them – a really laidback, chilled out and fun day.
This lot are seriously intelligent people, but that absolutely doesn’t stop them enjoying being very silly too. I love their silliness more than anything. Particular highlights include the Groom nearly setting himself on fire during the lighting of the special candle in the ceremony, the Father of the Bride’s tendency to lean in most of the photos, all of the speeches which involved as much crying as laughing. Ooh yes, and if you’re wondering why the bride’s shoes are in the oven – Ruth’s mum went to great lengths to make sure everything was wedding ready, including the oven. Ruth emailed to let me know her mum’s reaction on seeing the photo “But I didn’t clean the TOP oven” Teehee – it looked sparkley to me!!
