So this is a short and sweet blog post today, celebrating everything that is fabulous about Mums at weddings – well, it is Mothers Day after all! I just want to give a huge ‘big up’ to these wonderful women – the ones who look on with such pride in their beautiful children all grown-up. Mums often stay well away from the limelight on the big day, and traditionally Dads get all the attention (with aisles and speeches), so I think its only fair to celebrate these fantastic kind, strong, loving women. So here’s to the Mums at weddings – the ones who squeeze you into your dress, do up your shoes, who find your missing earring on the floor. The ones who know when to step away and leave you with your girlfriends, and when to step in and give you a great big hug. The ones who hold back the tears, who’ve helped you make the cake, the decorations, the 100s of wedding favours. The ones who wear super crazy huge hats, who cackle throughout the speeches and who totally rock out on the dancefloor at the end of the day. Ladies and Mums everywhere – Happy Mothers Day, I absolutely salute you. The wedding world would not be the same with you in it!
