My 2015 in Weddings part 1- My Beautiful Couples

Well 2015 – what a funny old year you’ve been! On a personal level, it’s been a bit of a daft one with an array of things happening – including plant pots falling through my car sunroof, my dog having to have her tail amputated, the wettest camping holiday I have ever had, and my computer testing my patience more times than I’d care to mention.  I also turned 40 unghghgh!  So thank heavens for my weekly escape into wedding world – where everything is always happy, everyone always looks beautiful and life is always good!!  And 2015 has brought with it the most amazing year of weddings and I’ve had the absolute honour of photographing 35 gorgeous couples on the biggest day of their lives. And wow what incredible days they’ve been.

I’ve travelled to weddings in campervans, beetles, and even a Del Boy Robin Reliant, I’ve put kittens into the bride’s wedding shoes, I’ve run several sparkler-runs backwards really hoping my hair won’t catch fire, I’ve both cried my eyes out and laughed til my cheeks hurt during the speeches, I’ve laid facedown in sheep-poo, nettles and ants nests (anything to get that perfect shot!), I’ve boogied on down on the dancefloor and whacked myself in the face with my camera several times due to an overenthusiastic dance move.

I’ve been to barns, teepees, pubs, ranches, boutique hotels and to stately homes that would give Downton a run for its money. I’ve done up bows for bridesmaids dresses, put on numerous buttonholes for hapless groomsmen, have lit the candles and have got so lost coming home from a wedding that I thought I was going to have to live in the wilds of West Sussex forever (it’s okay, I got a new satnav)!  It’s been an amazing year and as ever I am absolutely blown away by the lovely people I get to work with.  I am truly grateful and honoured that these wonderful couples have trusted me to be their wedding photographer, and I adore them all to bits.  These people are not my clients, they are my friends – and they make my world so much better for being in it!   And there’s even more to come for 2016 – yippeeeeee bring it ON! xxxx
